How to hot wire???

I think my Ignition is bad. What happens is, when I turn the key to the on position, only the radio will come on. The dash lights do not light up. The headlights work so does the horn, etc. But the car won't start. It won't even turn over. I need to limp this car home. Any suggestions?

Re: How to hot wire???

get a new ignition switch, unplug the old one, plug the new one in, and use a small screwdriver to work it

like?

there are a half dozen wires that need to get power,. along witht the start wire, plus, the key needs to be turned on(to unlock wheel, and have the VATS signal OK)

easiest way is a new/working switch, plugged into the harness, switch is mounted on top of the column, halfway down to the firewall

When you try to start the car is the security light on? If so you might have a VATs issue.
