how to depressurize and remove LT1 A/C system?
hey guys, i'm new to these boards. I just bought a 95 Z28 that I'm parting out and I plan to use the LT1 and T56 in my 84 Trans AM.
Anyway, i've never had to deal with removing and AC system that actually was pressurized and worked before so can someone tell me the correct safe way to depressurize it myself? I realize i'll be polluting the air, but i don't have a choice since the car is already disabled and cant be brought to a shop. Thanks

Re: how to depressurize and remove LT1 A/C system?
it might be worth a few minutes to call a few A/C shops and see if they can or if they know of someone that does house calls to evacuate A/C systems.
or, if you hate mother nature, you can simply open the schrader valves in the A/C lines and let the pressure/gas/oil out. or disconnect the lines from the compressor. you'll find the schrader valves in the A/C lines, they come from the factory with plastic threaded caps that you remove first. just push down the little pin in the center and it opens the system.
