Angry horn keeps blowing a fuse!

I bought a horn on eBay from a '96 SS to replace the one in my '97 V6 because my horn sounded too weak and high-pitched. NOw here's the thing: when I plug in the SS horn and just let it dangle (i.e. not bolted on) it works fine. But as soon as I bolt it on, it blows a fuse when I blow it.

What gives??

This may sound crazy but on one of my camaros the cigarette lighter was the reason my fuse blew when the horn honked. I know I know sounds crazy. Seriously try unpluging the cig lighter

It is probably a short. Make sure your connections are well insulated.

maybe the ss's horn draws more power, therefore overloading the fuse and breaking it. Try a bigger fuse
