High Tail Light on a 97

The bulb is okay, I've swapped it with the high break light. The tail light doesn't work. What is the most likely suspect? Bad socket? Broken Wire?

I'd start by checking the tail light wires and look at the sockets. I guess they fail alot of the time with these cars..

Okay, I'm second guessing myself now. Is the hatch light on a 97 dual purpose? Both sockets light on the break press, I thought 1 was suppose to be lit anytime the headlights were turn on.

If you are referring to the brake light on the wing, I am pretty sure it is only on when you press the brakes.

Yes that's the one I'm talking about. I guess I was just being paranoid trying to fix a problem that didn't exist.
