HELP! WHAT IS THIS PART CALLED? I NEED IT! WHERE CAN I GET IT? I WAS TOLD IT WAS A PASSKEY OR THEFT MODULE. I ORDERED THE THEFT MODULE AND GOT THE WRONG PART FOR 217.00.

 

that is aftermarket, it is a anti theft thing, but it is not stock

I would just pull the dash over ther apart, and remove it and the wiring for it

 

that looks like the theft key from mustangs.

 

You can even take a paper clip and make a jumper for it. But as stated above, get rid of it. All they are is a pain. If you don't want to go through all of the trouble of removing the whole thing then just connect the two wires together and put them up out of the way.

 

Read the post at the top of this forum about abusing the TTT.

 

So what would you suggest for me to do? It is causing me hell! I dont know where to get one or anything ?

 

Two wires.. I believe there are a few.. it keeps burning my chip out in the same spot. Do you know the actual name of this?

Since this doesn't appear to be an engine part (hard to tell from the fuzzy picture, no information on where you found it, or even what year the car is), you're also on the wrong forum.

Moving to "General F-Body Tech & Info".....

 

It has to do with the theft system of some sort.. its off my 1994 z28? God forbid I need help ASAP.

 

I think being selfish and talking to Fred like that probably isn't going to get you a lot of help.

 

I dunno, I really dunno anyone here as you can see from my post. I all I want to know is what that part is and where I can get it.. or if I can delete the insert box from my under dash.

A little searching goes a long way. First, visit the first link to find your key value, and then the second link to bypass the system.

 

Looks exactly like what I have on my Ranger.

I am like the 3rd owner of my truck, so I can not tell you for certain if that was a Ford offered piece or aftermarket, but since I don't remember the factory spec sheet in the glove box having an alarm listed, it's gotta be aftermarket.

When I used to work offshore, I forgot where I had tucked mine one time...almost thought I was relegated to sleeping in my truck at the dock for at least a night.

Find a good alarm shop, have them look it up, and go from there.

Or you can find me an engine for my Camaro, move to my neighborhood...and we can share my chip. Okay, probably not....

 

OK... you're in a hurry, and the rules don't apply to you. W H E R E did you find the part on your 1994 Z28? Is it plugged into something? Was it in the glove box? Is it under the dash? Many of us have been working on these cars since they first came out, and I've never seen anythign quite like that.

I do apologize, it's just been sitting in a shop for about a week - week 1/2. I'm getting a little worried because they don't even know what to do, and there saying I can't take it out because It's impossible? A GM dealership(lol)

- I bought the car with 52k 1 1/2 yrs ago.. had no problem with it but it's the second (my last one) and now it has burn't out.

- It plugs into a little box (about 2 1/2 in x 1/3in insert ) mounted by two screws under the under-dash panel on the right side of the driver.

- From my knowledge of it burning out it keeps me from not turning over my car but firing. Also shuts the starter system off.

- Any info would be great.. again sorry and thank you!!
