And how is it you know that is a 6 speed from the VIN? The VIN carries no such info, AFAIK.
(unless you had someone look it up and that would be cheating

I looked up the calibration number for the tune on that VIN... and since I deal with these things everyday, I know them by heart... what number corresponds to year, tranny type, speed limiter, gear ratio, etc.

Just making sure. 
Bottom line is, you can't determine the tranny by breaking down the VIN. Now I know there is another method for finding info.
