HELP...smoke coming through E brake hole???

Went and did a donut for a buddy of mine tonight. On the drive home I could smell a burnt smell the whole way. I just thought it was the rubber I cleaned off but it never seemed to go away. I was just about home and noticed smoke billowing into the cockpit through the E brake hole. I have no idea what this could be. When I got home I jumped under the car with a flashlight and have no leaks and saw no smoke coming down that way. Started the car back up and the smoke subtly started again. I dunno what it is. Had my exhaust pipe break on me today so I had to cut it off about 2 inches after the cat so it wouldn't bang and rattle on everything while driving. Doesn't seem to be coming from there though. Is it something with the tranny possibly? Maybe I heated it up a little too much or something? Let me know asap please I want to track this down. Should I get a tranny flush?

I'm assuming you have an A4? There is a little vent on the top of the tranny case that might have spit out some fluid. Maybe that is what is burning.

Is it something I should be worried about? I checked the fluid and it was towards the "hot" zone but didn't smell burnt or look discolored. Think it was just a little burning off and shoud go away? Thanks

Pretty sure I found the issue. Check out this other post I made explaining what happened. It sure isn't good, and could have been worse.
