HELP! Removing rounded header bolt...

Hi All,

Well, my header install is going a little less well than expected. In removing the old headers I slipped and rounded the head. It's the bolt furthest front on the pass. side. Any ideas how I can get this? All help is appreciated...

Dave

If you can't get pliers on it, I would take a dremel tool to it and make a deep line across the middle of the head. Then unscrew it using a flathead screw driver.

You could also go to Sears and pick up one of their 'rounded bolt head' sockets. Not sure exactly what they call them. They have a set of sockets designed to take off bolts that the heads have been rounded off on. They also have screwdriver bits designed to remove stripped out screws. Just an idea.

I have taken a dremel to put some more flats on the bolt and used the next size smaller wrench.

Re: HELP! Removing rounded header bolt...

If possible, I mig welded nuts or bolts onto the stripped one and it solved the problem everytime. (Be careful not to hit a fuel line or anything flamable!)
