help! radio and windows quit!

car is a 94 trans am, i was working on fixing the drivers window switch, and i accidently made contact inside the plug in module. as soon as i did that the radio and windows completely stopped working. i checked the fuses and i took the relays out of my Z28 to try them in it but nothing. i took out the fuse pannel and the windows and radio are on the same wire but i cand find where the wire leads too. anyone have any insight?

Near the top of the trans tunnel on the driver side, under the dash, there is a small black box about the size of a pack of cigarettes. That box is the timer for the windows and radio to stay on when you take the key out of the ignition. It is probably bad. You can remove it and just jumper the wires. The radio and windows will now only work when the key is on.

Connect all the wires together? I certainly would not do that!

As a temporary solution, you can jumper the brown wire to feed the dark blue and pink wires on the connector after removing the RAP module. Note that there will be no RAP function. I don't reccommend you leave it permanently that way.

I have this same exact problem in my 1996 Camaro Z/28. But it only happens randomly, if i hit the radio, it ussually comes back on. All my radio connections are good, so i didnt understand what was going on. Do i have the same module and the same or a similar problem?

You don't have a RAP module. RAP functions are contained in the BCM on 1996 and up. Checking the BCMs electrical connectors might be a good first step. It is under the RH side of the dash, attached to the HVAC housing.
