Help with play in steering

I have a little play in my steering while driving, just changed tie rods and it helped a little , just wondering if the rack can get loose the way old steering boxs did and if there is any adjustment or if any one has any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help, suggestions.

I replaced the rack on mine and it took care of the play. Check the rag joint first.

Yes like said above.

The steering shaft comes thru the firewall and connects to a pivot like a small drive shaft with a u-joint that connects to the rack.

That was bad on my 96 . Have someone look at it while you nudge the steering wheel it should be farily apparent if it is moving alot without moving the rack.

Good Luck!
