was workin on my car and an o-ring from one of the injectors stick in the hole....when i tried to pull it out it fell into the hole....can it stay and just burn up or do i need to take the intake and stuff off to get it out??????

 

saw one thread where a guy just started up and it came out the exhasut.....should i do that or take the intake off?

 

Since it is rubber I would chance it and go ahead and start it up after getting done working on it.

Take it out. Why are you going to run foreign materials in the combustion chamber? You can probably fish it out with a pick. Not to mention without the o-ring sealing the injector you will spray some gas out into the engine compartment. You're next post will be... "why does my car smell like gas?"

 

You have to have an o-ring on the injector and I would NOT run it throught the engine. Granted you could get lucky and not hurt anything but it could also cause problems if it gets into the wrong places. A few hours to fish it out or pull the intake or alot of hours and money if you hurt the engine.

no i started it and drove it a little last night and some today and its runnin fine...went to auto zone and got new orings before i started it though and replaced the missing one...i wasnt that stupid

 

Did you get the old ring out?

 

I have started a few up when a injector oring falls in, wrst I've had happen was a mis for a second as the oring got caught in the valvek, rev it up a little, and it smooths right out

 

didnt just went and got the new ring...put it on... bolted everything down...hoped for the best and started it.
