Help me identify engines and trannys...

Heres the thing I called a local guy who has ALL KINDS of car parts, says he has all kinds of chevrolet v8 engines layin around and transmissions. He is gonna sell me an engine ( which I am going to rebuild anyway) for 50 bucks, but he doesnt know the difference between a 350 and a 305. What is the bore and stroke of a 350?

Next question is this guy has all kinds of transmssions also. I am wanting either a 4 speed manual which he sells his standard trannys for 100 bucks and the autos for 125... How can I identify a four speed manual. If he doesnt have that I am going to go thee route of a automatic tranny. How can I identify these? Anything I should be on the lookout for? Thanks

He is seeling heads for 20 bucks apiece too...

By the way this is all for my 68 chevrolet truck project...

Talk about the bling leading the blind. Hint: get casting numbers from block and case and check on Mortec web site.
