My '98 camaro's dash is cracking, no thanks to the brutal sun here in south Texas (and the fact that my car is over 10 yrs old!). I want to replace it, but I want to make sure I get the correct part. I found this on gmpartsdirect.com and I was wondering if it was the part I was looking for. Can someone tell me if this:





is the same as this:





I realize in the real picture that it's an older model, but I just want to know if that's the general part that I'm trying to buy off of gmdirect as pointed out in the catalog pic. I guess the fact that the catalog lists the part as "Crash Pad" really throws me off. I thought it would be called 'dash cover', or 'dash pad'. Anyways, mine's crack and I need a new one, so if you can help me figure out if this is the right part or not before I spend some money on it, I'd appreciate it! Thanks for the help!

Wait a minute... I can't buy from that website? Crap! Where can I find that part for that price? GMpartsdirect has the part # for $166. Is there a place I can get it cheaper?

 

Ouch, that sucks. The price went way up. Last one I bought from GMpartsdirect was around $90 I think.

 

You can't buy it cheaper (new from GM, anyway). That WAS gmpd's price a while back. Everything is much higher now.

I get emails all the time from people wanting to buy parts from me, even though it says on my site that it is not a list of parts for sale.
