I have a 95 3.4l camaro and when i start it it idles at 3000 rpn, and when i put it in drive it takes off like the throttle cable is stuck. but the throttle seems fine its in the right position. what else could be the problem.

 

Idle Air Sensor could be bad? Or stuck open? It controls how much air is let in the engine at idle.

 

The intial idle speed should be around 1300rpm(my94Z)so something is really wrong.Chk. for any codes should be first.
