Most automotive shops have spray-on headliner adhesive. Just make sure you get the one for head liners since it is strongest. Might be a 3-m product, but I forget.

It's going to be best just to have it recovered. Any interior shop should be able to do it for around 100-140 dollars. If you just spray whatever glue you can find up there, it will come back down in no time.

I recovered mine in my old third gen. I bought the fabric and the spray adhesive and it turned out very nicely. For everything, I probably spent around 40 bucks. On a sidenote, the LT1 engine tech forum probably isn't the best place for this, you might want to try the Appearance forum in the future.

I've had that done for a couple cars in the past. It cost $45 to redo the old headliner with new material from a local auto shop.

dont waste money on spray adhesives, works like crap on old dry rotting headliners. just get a new one or have it reupholstered.
