Header leak

I believe my passenger side header is leaking, but i cant get my hand down there to tighten the bolts...whats the best angle to get them from and the best tool to use.

Re: Header leak

never done headers on an LT1, but i know when i did my plug/wire change on one it made it VERY easy to access them by jacking the passenger side of the motor up.

i removed the passenger motor mount bolt, but i bet you could get some movement without doing that...could be enough to get your hand in there.

Re: Header leak

I dont know about your lts, but with my shorties some of the bolts on the passender side you can reach with a 11mm deep socket with a u-joint, others I can only reach with an 11mm open ended wrench.

Re: Header leak

i use a opened wrench on mine. You just have to twist yourself funny for the number 6 and 8. Good luck.

Re: Header leak

Remove your starter and tighten the header bolts from the bottom.

Re: Header leak

You just have to wedge your hands or tool in there. It might be a knuckle buster but it just needs to be done. I just put my shorties in and I used a sized wrench.
