Header Heat cycling

Header Heat cycling

I know that there is a correct way to heat cylce new headers. Someone could give me a quick refresher course I'd appreciate it.

Depends on how often you drive it. If you drive it every day, just check it every day the first couple days, then at the end of the week, and weekly for a couple weeks after that. I'm pretty sure mine fully seated after 2 weeks.

I thought that when you do put the new headers on, you have to run the car for like 15 minutes, shut it off, let it cool back down, run it for 10 minutes, let it cool back down and so on so that the gaskets seat correctly, or am i mistaken?

ive never heard of anything like that.

I've never heard any talk before of header heat cycling. It certainly won't hurt anything. You should always check bolt tightness for a bit after they are first installed, though.
