Anyone know how to change out the internal hazard light switch? I purchased a new column, and it came with the switch broken out.

 

are you sure the switch is broken, not just the button?


if the switch is broken, you need to replace the entire turn signal switch

remove airbag
remove steering wheel(will need puller)
remove clockspring
remove lock plate(will need a lock plate depressor)
remove horn slip ring and spring
remove turn signal link
remove turn signal switch

you can inspect and swap out the ignition lock cylinder now if desired

 

Holy crap. Yeah is broken, I had to pull the switch out with pliers to get the lights off. I think I will just find a nice way to cap it off as this is my toy. Thank you for the step by step though.
