hey guys,

i went with a 383 and new shocks and springs.... pulled everything out from the bottom.... now that i got the engine together, i installed the k member back underneath the car with the engine and tranny... but i was using my stb bar to lift the car up.... I DIDNT INSTALL THE SHOCK TOWERS first.... and bolted the k member up.

i'm having a B**** of a time trying to get them back in... i've even lowerd the k member and back out the bolts to gain some room... still no go...


any ideas.... i'm using DMS springs and eibachs on a stock lt1 k member

 

What is preventing the upper spring support/mount from entering the tower? Is it possible you failed to mark the relative orientation of the top mount to the bottom spring seat before you disassembled them, and now the studs in the top mount are not correctly aligned with the holes in the tower?
