Gremlin in my Car?
Gremlin in my Car?
Well i havnt had my car a year yet, i pick'd her up on 4/20/05. 1998 Trans Am 70k miles. Shortly after i was on a Raod trip and window's didnt want to Roll up. It was VARY HOT that day so didnt matter, that night i was at the hotel and they just starting working agian. odd i just though it was motors and heat etc. hasnt ack'd up since that one day and the following 2days on my trip was allmost as hot.
Then i was having alot of my lights dimming at night when on the gas and breaking, playing cd's, and the radio would cut out. i replace'd the ****ty 450cca batter with a RedTop 720CCA fix'd everthing but the dimming when i was breaking and sometimes the CD will skip, when i take off from a stop light. Had the Altnater Test'd and it was working fine.
Then i start blowing Driver Side front trun single blubs. Replaced a 2 times clean'd out the connector, inspect'd the houseing and found a small crack, got a new one but didnt have time to put it on befor winter got here. So i put the car away for the winter months and i pull'd the car out and the Left Trun single wasnt working just like the day i put her away, but the Trun single houseing looks 10times wosrt looking. But Last night i was the DD and I unlock'd my car with the keyless and the Left Light was working but trun single didnt flash or seem to come on in the front just back, like the blub was out again. now today on my way home i notice'd in the reflection of the truck in front of me i was on again so i hit the tru single and it was working !WTF!
Any one ever have something like this happen to them? plane'd on working on the trun single houseing on my day off this up coming week. Since i'll be working on her what else should i look into with the trun single working and not working, doesnt seem to be the flasher. (front light wont even trun on then it doenst work)??

Re: Gremlin in my Car?
My friend's 99 left turn signal quit working once. The next day it worked fine and never quit again. Never bothered to try to find out what was wrong. Good luck on that one, intermittent problems can be a pita sometimes. Try checking for corrosion anywhere you can, other than that you can try and diagnose it when it's not working.
As far as the windows, the motors have a bimetallic strip in them that acts as a circuit breaker to prevent overload. Once they cool down the windows will start working again. The problem is that they are oversensitive and seem to lose contact with time as well. It usually keeps getting worse slowly after symptoms first appear.
Couldn't tell you about the cd player. Probably just a problem with the unit itself and not something else in the car.
