Gauges

Any idea why when I start up my car the Tach and speedemeter gauge goes all the way to there higest rpm/speed, then back to 0

i think all pontiac's do that...

Bet it's a '99 and the trip odometer is also resetting. There was a TSB to replace the instrument cluster, but a good battery/voltage makes it go away.

sorry for that guys. yes its a 1999 camaro ss. so its normal for every start up for it to do that?

No it's not normal. I'd make sure it's at least a 690 CCA battery and have it load tested free at a local parts store.

It's the instrument panel cluster according to the TSB, but doesn't do it with good battery voltage. The TSB doesn't mention the gauge sweep, just the trip odo reset, but usually happens at the same time. Don't have access to it but it's GM TSB#99-08-49-009
