Fuel gauge

I replaced my pump with a walbro 255 while building my 383 setup and have it running and driving now but the fuel gauge pegged itself past the full mark and just stays there, what can i do to reset this/ fix it? Did taking it out screw with the sending unit?

Re: Fuel gauge

It sounds like the floater arm got caught up when you put the assembly back in. It's a common problem. I'd pull it back out and re-install it making sure the floater arm is free of any hoses and other things. Hopefully you did the "cut a hole" method, or you're not going to be too happy.

Re: Fuel gauge

I'm betting that's what it is. It only takes 10-15 minutes to pull it back out if you cut the hole. Pretty easy to check.
