started up my car today and noticed a metal material about 1 inch wide flat curly and 12 inches in length covered in black. is this part of my muffler falling apart from the inside!?!?, my exhaust setup is hooker lt,s y pipe corsa catback with a 2 month old magnaflow muffler welded in place of the corsa muffler, it sounds almost the same as when it was first installed but a little louder over time. mods in sig

But seriously, it's probably a blown sphincter bypass valve. Go to autozone and ask for part #10958432.
