hey evry1 i have always been a ford man till here recently my 302 took me for a loop and dropped my conf. in ford. i sold my must. and bought a 95 z28 steaming from pipes and running hot so i found a brand new set of stock LT1 head for 50$ and new water pump. shoul this cure the crippled chevy? all ideas welcome!!

You went ahead and bought heads and a water pump and then asked if this would fix the problem?

Take it to a professional. They'll let you know for sure what has failed.

yeah i bought the heads cause if i gotta change headgasket well then gotta take heads off anyway right plus they are stock lt1 heads for $50 why not. right? still a lil curious of what range on the thermostat though?

I believe the stock t-stat is 180 degree type. However, the fan on/off temp. are set higher then that so you will most likely see temps of 195 or above. If you are already taking all of that stuff apart, it would be so easy just to send that extra castings out to be ported and toss in a better cam and rockers as well.
