AN Fitting Help

I have my first set of AN fittings and it isn't going very well. Is there some trick to getting the hose into the cap? I presume the braid has to go in there too. It seems really hard to do so far.

I spray some lube on there and muscle it on. They are my least favorite thing to do.

if you have the soft jaws for your vise I put it in there and push and twist....you get used to it after the first few

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. The tubing has to go all the way to the bottom of the nut first and then you screw the end on. I wasn't putting it in far enough and it kept pushing the tube out. I did it with two crescent wrenches but I certainly see the point on a soft jawed vise. Anyway, two more to go, I'm glad there aren't 10 more, my hands are sore this morning from the first two.

I went from braid to Aeroquip socketless hose from Summit. They don't look as pretty, but, they work just as good and are easy to cut and assemble the fittings. Less cost as well. They will wear faster if they rub on something, so, you need plastic tube protection in places.
