Question First time camaro owner maybe if i can talk my wife into it

I'm looking at buy a 2002 Camaro base model. However I need to talk my wife into. My biggest question is how expensive parts and care is. If I do get this car I wanna take the best care I can of it. If you have any info that would help calm my wife down with how much parts cost it would help me out alot thanks.

By base model do you mean V6? Or a base Z28? Either way it all comes down to the condition of the car, if you have any experiece with automobiles then you should clearly see if it's been abused, not maintained well etc. etc. Parts and maintenance aren't that horrible, there's alot of good quality aftermarket stuff out there, and as if with any car if you take care of it, it will last you a very long time.

honestly, unless you want to become, or already are, "into cars", and working on them yourself, Camaros, or any other "high powered" cars can be pricey to fix and maintain. Hopefully you can pick up a well taken care of Carmaro, and won't have to fix or replace much. Do some research on how much parts are, your normal starter, brakes, fuel pump (which is a pain in the ace if you have to replace) belts, tires, hoses, a/c, heater, ect. depending on if you have the knowledge to do the work, then you can subtract labor costs. I know if I did have the knowledge, in the past 2 years of owning mine, I probally would have dished out over 1500-$2000 in repairs alone easily. On the other hand, LS1's are alittle more reliable then the LT1's, but age and milage wears on a car. hope it helps, but...... they aren't corolla's.

Depends what other cars you're comparing costs against. Are you planning to mod your car at all...price has no limits then. But if you're keeping it stock or close to stock, the OEM parts to service your Camaro is not that much. Especially with online stores that sell genuine GM parts for the fraction of the dealership cost. Most times, I'll buy the parts myself and have some mechanics that I know install them.

Again, it depends on what you cars you're comparing. Say BMW might have better quality and more reliable, but when you need to replace something on that guy...the cost is more then for our cars.
