Well I picked up this 96 WS6 after my Z28 got totalled.... well I was wanting to know if there was anything i should pay particulary close attention to... i owned an LT1 before but whats the scoop on the HP diff on a 94 Z28 stock (my old car) and this WS6 stock..... i heard 305 stock for a LT1 WS6?? anyways.... car has 130,000 miles on it and is in pretty good shape.... clutch seems strong... i want to put a cam i had a 224/230 cam in the Z but want to xplore something different.... lemme know what you think??

I found this in my numerous amounts of literature, Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6 rated at 305hp@5400rpm and 335tq@3200rpm.

 

not sure how accurate the 305hp was.

the base LT1 was bumped from 275hp in 93-95 to 285hp in 96-97. this was a result of switching to dual cats.

the boost from the WS6 package was theoretically from the ram air and exhaust.
in real world i'm not sure you'd get that much. but probably close. speically since as we all know ram air only adds hp when moving. so sitting on a dyno it is more of a cai.
