Firebird headlight wiring......

Well I just got this car a short while ago and im starting to think I ****ed myself because of all that im finding wrong with it, the car runs strong and looks good but, I have a hard start problem and allllot of wiring issues, but the main one that im concerned with is the fact that my headlights were rigged all messed up. The lights were wired with the passenger connector running to the driver side to get power, but this just caused the lights to go up then right back down, then when we cut the wires away from the driver side and tried hooking them back up to the original wires that did have continuity by the way, the passenger side then didn't work at all but the driver side worked properly to an extent,it still started to head back down just a tad but stopped, but that was short lived as well cause now neither one of them work at all when turning the switch, so im thinking a short somewhere along with another problem.

I am thinking I got in over my head, but I now have to live with my impulse, and hope you great people can help me the best you can until I get these few bugs taken care of so I can truely enjoy this car, its a beautiful 95 M6 TA with 78k miles and had a new paint job so the Red is glossy, but the wiring in this thing is absolute ****, just to add a few, the hatch button only works when the key is off or not in the ignition at all, the passenger side door only locks but doesn't unlock, and the driver side front blinker isn't working even with a new bulb.

If noone has an idea could anyone give me advice on where to take the car to have it rewired or what not and what kind of price I may be looking at, cause im not an electrical person at all, I have no clue how to read a schematic.

The headlight going down then immediately back up is likely a broken tab/stop issue. I go into detail about that here...

See detail #6 in that little write-up. Good luck!

Take a look at this picture. The raise/lower arm is resting on the bottom one. The top one you can see how it has a "mark" on it from where it hits the tab/stop when the light goes down. Can you see them? They are the "things" sticking out that aren't a nut or a bolt

Not a problem! I'm generally considered the resident Firebird Headlight expert... even though I don't have a Firebird
