Finally Got An LS1!

After waiting around for about a year trying to find something i wanted i finally sold off my 96 RS with 120,000 miles! which i did WAY WAY too much work on for a v6. Then yesterday morning i woke up and felt like checking auto trader & there she was. A Black 98 SS Camaro for sale for only $8000! She had 90,000 miles on her but she was in perfect condition and already had flowmaster exhaust and slp long tube headers on her so i went ahead and bought her. Wow this car has some serious power behind her! I went from driving an automatic RS to a M6 98 SS. Heres a few pics so you can see what good condition its in.

nice looking ride.

hope you don't run into clearance issues with the SLP headers.

what mods have you got planned?

from the looks of the pictures, you need to do this:

Re: Finally Got An LS1!

Thanks for the link to the headlight info i was just gonna put whole new headlights in but if i can clean them up like that then thats what im going to do. Mods i have planned for the future are completely natural aspirated power. My RS had a powerdyne supercharger that gave me nothing but trouble i wanted to throw that thing away. Since i already have headers and exhaust i want to get better flowing heads and a mild cam as my next mod. Also although its not a performance modification im gonna put the black 18" z06 rims with the polished chrome lip around the outside of the wheel on my car. They will look sick on a Black SS. My main goal is to be able to take my dads 2003 z06 with my camaro which i don't think is a really un realistic goal since his is stock besides aftermarket exhaust.

To clean up the headlights, I'd get some 1200 grit sandpaper and water.

You don't need heads to make the LS1 wake up hard. A cam change will do it
