Fellas, I need some help! VIN locations!

I've got a friend who I think just got the shaft on a car he purchased without telling any of us about it before the purchase was made.

This car looks like a multi-car job, SALVAGE TITLE, and I need to find a VIN on the body so I can get some evidence to get him his money back, this thing is a POS!

We checked the one under the windshield, the glove box, those match. The car was painted, so the door sticker was removed, so I need a location that would be hard to get to, even if I have to put it on the lift and pull the gas tank or something, it's worth it...WE'RE PISSED!!!

He didn't even know it was a salvage title untill the DMV notified him about it, this car is terrible......HELP!

Thanks

David Moss

I don't know what car was bought (you don't say), but on a 4th gen, I don't believe there are any other permanent markings on the car body (body panel stickers can be removed). So, your probably SOL.

Depending on the terms of the sale, maybe get a lawyer involved.

car.......

Yes, it's a 1993 4th gen.

I was hoping there was a VIN stamped somewhere on the body of this thing.

There are hidden vins on all cars, I think a law passed in 1969 requires it. Police know where to find all the hidden vins, insurance companies might too. If he wasn't told ahead of time, I'd think that would be very strong grounds to sue for withholding an important material fact. But laws vary by state, he needs to consult an attorney. Some will do initial consultations for cheap.

it is illegal in texas to sell a car with a salvage or rebuilt title w/o first notifiying the buyer.

but that is a moot point as its all one mans word vs another.
