Fan Switch

I bought a DPDT switch from Radioshack and wired it according to the Shbox diagram http://shbox.com/1/fan_sw_diagram1.jpg and I get power when the switch is flipped one way but nothing when switched the opposite.

I'm just wondering where I should start looking for an issue? Fans kick on like normal when running but they sound much louder than when I flip the switch so I'm not sure If I'm just getting one fan, low speed or what?

Thanks

Re: Fan Switch

Sounds like they are running on high speed when you flip the switch.

Re: Fan Switch

I noticed today that I'm only getting the passenger side fan when I flip the switch. I'm pretty sure both come on when the switch is off though.

Recheck your wiring work. If it is all done like the diagram, it works correctly.

I have, but this is the first time I have ever done anything with wiring so something could be wrong right before me and it may go unnoticed.

So is low speed one fan and high both or do I have an issue somewhere besides the wiring since the switch can turn on the passenger fan but not the other? Also for the ground, is there a preferred way to splice into it? I'm using T-taps and thought maybe that's not the best way to get the ground to the 3 required spots on the switch?
