exhaust or wheels..
I have ~ $1000 to spend, and I cant decide what I want...
its a 99 light pewter metalliac v6 camaro
so, I know I'm not going to get a really great sounding exhaust, and I almost dont know if I want to get exhaust because I think its going to end up sounding ricey, but Im not really unhappy with the stock 5 point wheels that I have right now.
I was thinking about getting some black zr1 wheels, but the only place I can find them is on ebay, and Ive never bought anything off ebay, and I dont know what I'm going to do with the wheels when I get them because I cant put them on at home with the flat tire jack, theres no way thats going to work out.

There's no way on earth exhaust is going to cost you a thousand dollars unless you do headers and have a shop fab up the exhaust from there back. If you're just going from the stock muffler to a Flowmaster or something of that variety, you're maybe looking at 300 bucks tops. You might be able to do that and find a set of used wheels in your area for 1000 bucks and then you'd have both. You can occasionally hook up a really good deal, I got the Rebels on my blue car with almost brand new (3k miles) tires for 900 bucks.
The most important thing is to do your research and don't just jump on the first thing you see. You gotta know when a good deal is present, but don't just jump on something because you like it at that moment. You never know, if you wait a day or two, you might find something better for a whole lot less.

Hi,
Borla do a rear- section exhaust for the V6,which includes the muffler, quad tips and clamps and hangers etc. It's all in stainless, even the clamps, nice quality, just expensive, and very easy to fit.
Had this on my car back when I had my 3.4 V6,had quite a nice tone, not ricey, actually sounded rather good on cold start-up.It also looked the part with those polished quad tips, much nicer than the single turn down stock tailpipe.I'm guessing that your car is the 3.8 V6 so it should sound even better as your car has another 40hp more than the 3.4.
I personally would go for a nice set of 17" rims which will transform the look of your car,go for a wheel and tire package and just fit them on yourself.Don't be scared of E-bay,you can find some good deals if you shop around, just be sure to check the sellers feedback.I personally have purchased many items off E-bay sellers in the U.S and they have arrived in the U.K within 4 days.
Good luck,all the best,Mark.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...merican&id=265 magnaflow is $550
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...oducts_id=3810 flowmaster is $478
plus labor..
am I missing something here?
$300 sounded nice, but with the labor included from either of those theres no way its going to be under $300

Get wheels....the car won't look all V6'ish. If you ever do exhaust...i think Dynomax would sound good. I heard a sound clip on a Grand Prix and it sounded good...brought out that V6 "burble" that GM V6s are famous for.
