Question Exhaust pipe knocking against SFC

I heard of people welding a little piece from the exhaust to the SFC to keep this from happening but I would rather stick something that was rubber like for high temps in between the exhaust pipe and the SFC. This happens where the pipe curves and runs near the SFC on the front passenger side.

What has everyone done to solve this if it has happened to them? I only hear the knocking in reverse when you first start to get moving.

the proper fix would be poly motor mounts...works great.

or you can try the mufflex bracket that thunder racing sells. it's under "exhaust accessories"

motor mounts are not mechanically difficult...just logistically. they are a royal PITA to bolt and unbolt due to space.

on my LS1 it took me 10hrs of cussing and bitching to get the damn things out and back in.

not sure if it's any easier/harder on an LT1.

the engine will twist less in the engine bay, preventing the exhaust from moving and hitting the frame or sfc.

i didn't notice any added car vibration...even now with the cam

Where i used it, the pipe was so close that i just squesed it inbetwen. In one spot i had to fold it over once to make it fit.

They sell meatal zip ties.... i would try them

excuse my ignorance but I guess the exhaust pipe doesn't get too hot for the hose pieces?

My lord. Just loosen up the exhust at the collectors and or Y-Pipe. Jamm in a 2x4 against the tunnel brace and pipe. Tighten everything back up,pull out 2x4, rattle should be gone
