How do you know what # a SS is?
How do you know what # a SS is?
I am looking at a 30th SS and I don't know where to find the number, and the owner has no clue. Is it in the glove box or something? I know there is a SLP sticker somewhere stating what slp options the car has.
Thanks

The RPO Codes and SLP options stickers are on the door jams. If you want to know the build number you have to contact SLP, and give them the VIN.

Actually, my 1996 SS has SLP stickers on both door jambs, and under the hood on the radiator support. If these are missing be suspicious that the car has either been re-painted, or had it's stickers removed (why?) or isn't an original SS. Key points to look out for are, functioning cold air hood, upgraded rear spoiler, 17 X 9 ZR1 wheels with SS hubs, P275 40R 17 BF Goodrich Comp TA tires, SLP console or dash plaque with car #, SS emblems on front fenders and right rear area adjacent to the bow tie emblem. Other SS options may include, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, larger front and rear sway bars, larger panhard bar, stainless steel cat back exhaust with two on the left exhaust tips, Torsen differential with 3:42 gears and an AAM aluminum cover, Hurst linkage with H logo leather shifter ****, SS floor mats and an SS cover. Call SLP with the vin # and for $50 they will provide you the build sheet. Good luck!
