exhaust people in here

im going to be putting some headers on my car....is the slp loudmouth too loud....bc i think it will be....

i have my basic ss exhaust that came on the car in my garage....if someone has a sound clip or could tell me how it sounds that would be great with that set up...how restrictive is the original camaro ss exhaust. i would appreciate anyones input.

I think that it really depends on what you think is too loud, we just installed a loudmouth on a friend of mines camaro ss. It is loud, but im sure there are ways to make youre car alot louder, I dont think a sound clip would help because alot of the cameras have this feature where it reduces the sound automatically... pretty much just go to this site and enjoy www.LS1sounds.com . They have like everything, with nearly every combination of headers and cats and ypipe and just echaust systems in general, and you can hear comparisons of the aftermarket stuff and the stock stuff. I hope it helps

I just installed the Loudmouth I on the SS today. It came from the factory with the SLP dual dual set-up. That was too quiet so I replaced the muffler with a Flowmaster 40 series, but in less than 20K miles the baffle system in it was shot so I decided to go back with a OEM system. ITS PERFECT! Not ANY louder than the flowmaster was, but WAY better sounding.

I'm sure its different because you have an LS1 but my buddy had the loudmouth on his LT1. Loudmouth with stock manifolds and cat and it sounded awesome. Then he added headers and an off road pipe, it sounded horrible.

I haven't heard the Loudmouth on an LS1 yet, but my buddy's got an '04 Stang with the 4.6 and he just installed the SLP Loudmouth. Now, i don't like 'Stangs, but i gotta say, that sounded DAMN nice! If that sounds anything like what it'll sound like on the LS1, that's the exhaust i'm getting.

if your goin short tube and/or keeping the cats, then it should sound damn good. but if you get an offroad y-pipe its gonna be loud as hell, and raspy, and no good.
