Exhaust Cutout with Headers?
Re: Exhaust Cutout with Headers?
I run Hooker long tubes with a Flowmaster cat-back and cutout. It sounds good with the cut-out closed but when the cut-out is fully open its very loud and very raspy. Headers wont necessarily make your car louder, they just flow more air. The cut-out will always give it a more raspy sound, and very loud.
Re: Exhaust Cutout with Headers?
Being that I have headers, any particular place I should consider putting it?
I've heard after the headers, after the cat, etc. What do you guys run? Mine will be raspy no matter what, I guess. I'll have to set up a button to open/close it like some have done.
(must be smog legal)

Re: Exhaust Cutout with Headers?
if you put it after the cat ground clearance will become a problem. most people put it right before the pipe goes over the rear axle. You need back pressure other wise your torque #'s will go down when your hp #'s can go up. Dont expect to much of a loss or gain, meaning 1-2 hp or torque. Ws6project.com sells an electronic kit but i think you have to buy the cutout seperately, $40 at summit.
