Ever think of making functional hood louvers?

I'm in the process of making my hood louvers on my 1985 z/28 actually functional. I just wanted to know if anyone else thought of this (I'm sure they have) and how they did it.

GM thought of it decades ago. All CFI 3rd gens had functional hood ducts. Mimic that setup.

Louvers are designed to extract hot air from the engine compartment.
