Engine Flush (in engine oil)
Every once in a while I use engine flush on both my cars(1995 Camaro Z28 LT1 and 2001 Impala 9C1 3800 V6). The one I used to use (can't remember brand) said to put in oil and let idle for 5 to 10 minutes or drive for no more than 50 miles. I can't find that same brand anymore. The other brands all say put in oil and let car idle for 5 to 10 minutes. Would it really hurt if I drove the car 10 miles from my house to the garage where I'm getting my oil changed? Any help or comments would be great!

Re: Engine Flush (in engine oil)
that distance shouldn't matter...
it's just that the flush is basically a solvent, which breaks down the lubricating properties of the oil...obviously don't want too much driving under those conditions.
i would say drive it around for a little, then drive to the shop, then pour it in. let it run for 5 min while you check the car in and everything...then they'll drain it.
may be safer

Re: Engine Flush (in engine oil)
Thanks for the info. That's what I'll do. Once I get to the destination I'll put the engine flush in the oil and let it run for a good 5 or 10 minutes.
