Electrical problem... no start...
Electrical problem... no start...
OK, here are the symptoms as they stand. When the key is turned to START, nothing happens. No solenoid click, buzz, or anything like that. Additionally, the interior lights aren't functional. Finally, the radio is getting power all the time, even when the ignition is OFF. Oh, and the SECURITY light doesn't come on when the key is turned ON.
The car will still run- we push-started it to get home from Wal-Mart- but there is no starting. Any insight into this before I start getting into the nitty gritty with a multimeter and Haynes wiring diagrams?
All fuses are OK. I'm checking fusible links and such next.

Re: Electrical problem... no start...
Have you installed a radio recently? It seems like you need to check the radios wires. You may have connected the continues wire to direct battery instead of to the ignition. Then you also want to make sure your battery can hold charge. But first I would fix the raido wires that are probably wired incorrectly.
Re: Electrical problem... no start...
OK, I think I've got a lead here. Based on schematics on Shoebox's page, I see that the same fusible link supplies power to the starting system and the BCM. The BCM controls the interior lights, retained accessory power, the security system, the fasten seatbelt light, and the remote hatch release. None of these are functional. Not getting constant power to the BCM could also explain the radio staying on via RAP.
