Electric mirror control when switched to "L" only moves the driver's side mirror to the left and right but not up and down. How do I fix this?

mine does the same thing but its the passenger mirror. It does up and down I think but not left and right.... or maybe it was the other way around. Its been a while since I had to mess with it. Just want to fix it for the sake of it... All my other cars I would have to reach out and adjust it with my hand, so its not a real big deal

 

I've had problems like this before, (it was the drivers side).
I held the mirror up then pressed the down buttom, or hold the mirror down and press the up button... Or was it the other way around... I think you get the idea... The same holds true for right and left, it seems there are several worm gears or whatever in there and have gone past the point of no return... I believe this is caused by moving the mirror by hand and readjusting it by the control over and over... Cleaning them comes to mind.

 

So do you have to just take the mirror off to get to these gears? Where are they?

 

I didn't take anything apart, I just held the mirror and tried to adjust it with the electronics... the servomotors are behind the mirror, the electronic control is on the door. Cleaning the mirror (maladjusting it) and readjusting it with the electronic control is what gets it off track...
