electic fan probs

Unhappy electic fan probs

i have a stock 96 z28 and the electric fans run as soon as you turn the key on and never shut off. need help please.

First question always asked: "Is the check engine light on?" The fans run when the light is on (in most cases). If so, you need it scanned to find what the trouble code is.

engine light not on but going to get it scanned anyway.

make sure all of your sensors are plugged in, probably easier done once the car is scanned. Check the easy ones like those to the TB and the maf etc.

My bet is the z is in limp home mode and the light hasn't lit yet. You're other bet is the car is running hot or thinks its running hot but not red line yet. ie:bad sensor

thanks for all the replies, but i finally had time to look the car over and the previous owner for some reason unknown yet had the fans jump wired to the ignition. so far everything working great. just bought the car and havent had nuch of a chance to check everything, but once again thanks for the replies may have many more questions in near future.
