e-break handle instal

I just got done trying to remove my center console but gave up on it I couldn't get the **** **** off, its a 94 v6 auto. Anways I was in the process of putting the e-break handle back on and I can't get it to work any more. I can get the metal hook thing back on but with out the decortie e-break handle. But when I take it back out and try it with the handle I just can't seem to get it to hook into place. So does anyone have any tips or tricks to get it back on and working properly. I'v been fiddling wth it for nearly 2 hours and get it working. And can anyone help me get the shift **** off I just can't seem to figure it out. I know there is some kind of clip around the base of it that you have to slide something into to unhook it but I just can't figure that out aswell.

I can tell you how to get your shift **** off. Its just like a staple on the back side of the handle, it kind of blens in with the stitching. Just use a small flat screw driver to pull it out, then pull the shift **** up. It will be stuck though so dont smack your self in the face trying to get it off

I just took out my center councel a week ago and had the same problem.

Re: e-break handle instal

well the problem is I can get it on with out the leather handle on without it being in the way I can wiggle the metal tuge around enought for it to catch on. But with the handle on I can't move it enought for it to hook on to where it need to be. I was just wondering if someone has some suggestions. Its just so hard to explin whats wrong with it.
