Dynomouth on 97TA

Hey everyone,

I looking to install an dynomax bullet on my stock l-pipe (aka dynomouth). What I am not sure about though, is whether to get 12'' or 18'' muffler.

My car right now is mostly stock (only K&N CAI), I might get LT headers in the future but not much more than that in terms of the mods. I don't want an exhaust setup that's going to be too obnoxiously loud. I'm pretty much set on getting an 18'', but am not sure if it's going to be too quiet and not much of a difference from the stock system.

So basically, please share your experiences with 12'' and 18'' bullers and their sound. Also if anyone has a sound clip of the dynomouth setup on lt1, please post.

Thanks.

Re: Dynomouth on 97TA

I was running FLP longtubes, 2 cats and a Loudmouth. It was obnoxiously loud. Had a mean tone to it and got quite a few compliments. I put a 12 inch Dynomax bullet in place of the resonator. It mellowed the tone a ton, but the volume was about as loud. I much preferred the tone with the resonator instead of the bullet, but was trying to quieten it down since I was paranoid. There was a post a week or so back where someone did a Dynomouth with some sort of spiral chambered muffler. I think they were pretty happy.

Don't bother, just buy a new catback. I had loudmouth and made it a dynomouth and it was just as loud. With headers it doesn't even sound that great. On a stock car it won't be obnoxiously loud but it will let people know you are near by. It drones like crazy to so if you drive on the highway I'd steer clear.

Re: Dynomouth on 97TA

I'd get a catback if my finances weren't so tight, anyway will the rasp and drone be very noticeable on a stock car?

Any sounds clips of this setup on LT1, ls1sounds.com only has ls1's?

Thanks.

ls1sounds have some lt1s on there. It's really not worth doing, you will gain nothing.
