Driver side window trouble. Please help!!
Ok I have had so many problems with my drivers side window. The guy I bought my Camaro from just put a new window motor in the car. It died in one year. I took it to the shop and put a new motor in it in November. Now the the window is only going up and down about 1 inch. So I took it back to the shop and all the tracks, switch and motor looked good. But there is a clicking noise coming from under the dash on the driver side when I push the window button. The shop said it could be the window regulator. Has anybody had this problem. Do you think it could be the regulator? Thanks for the help.
Regulator?
I know there's a power window control module somewhere under the dash. Mine went out a while ago, all the windows just stopped working completely.
So I did a complete rewire and now the window switches are behind the shifter. They actually go up and down a little bit faster too.
But there could be a lot of different things going on with what your problem is. My advice is to jump the motor with a power wire and a ground wire and see if there's problems with the wiring or the motor. It's not too hard, the motor itself only has two prongs for power on it, for power and ground, and switching the wires back and forth makes the window go up or down. The hardest part is actually getting to the motor. I just cut a small piece out of the inner door to get to mine.
That should narrow it down to whether it's mechanical (motor or assembly) or electrical.
Good luck.

If it is only going down one inch at a time, the motor is shot again. While these have a high failure rate, you seem to have an unusually high failure rate. Look for binding in that window and lube everything up real good!
The clicking you are hearing is the passenger side window express down module. It will sometimes click like that when the motor is going bad. Fix the window motor and that'll quick clicking
Take a look here to save yourself a ton of $$$

My passenger side motor started to die not 2 months after I got the car, so I had the motor replaced. Then another 2months later the driver side started to drop a little and then stop(even with the auto down feature) Or It would go all the way down with the auto down feature, and then not want to come back up. (this really sucked on rainy days) I took it back to where I bought it and they said it was the window motor's actuator, I bought a new one, along with two new (sieman's) window motors, I'm told they are the best, and although I still hear the clicking sometime, the windows have no problems moving freely
