door lock/unlock button wont work on both sides

My lock/unlock switch on both doors wont work. I read in the manual that the key has to be in....well that doesn't make any difference, it still wont work. The switch makes no noise what so ever when pressed in either direction.

-it worked fine for the first few yeas of owning it, then at some point it stopped.

Also, my key fob unlock/lock buttons dont work hardly at all. My driver door will unlock after I press it like 5 times(but wont lock). The passenger side will only lock when I press *unlock*.... I know that sounds weird, but that is what it does.

Thanks in advance.

Follow the electrical schematic to where the switch wiring for both sides meet. Find something in common with both sides. I don't have access to my schematics right now or I'd be of more help.

As far as the key fob goes, have you tried swapping in a new battery?

The contacts for the buttons on the key fobs can get gunked up over time; you can clean them with the hard pink pencil erasers; although your problems might be more than that

nope, it has nothing to do with the key fobs. I do hear a little click from under the glove box when I press the button and nothing happens.

mine started doing it 2 days ago. i think it has somthing to do with the friction on the driverside locking mechanism. take off the door panel and try it see if it still sticks, then if it is see if there are any areas that are rubbing more than normal and lube them.

new ?

Will both sides stop working if the drivers side switch is bad? OR is it only the passenger side switch that stops both sides from working?

NICE! I finally discovered the prob. I found a broken grey wire in the boot at the hinge of the driver side door. OMG, I cant believe I didn't find it sooner.

ALL IS WORKING!
