Door lock question

Ok, I got my new Camaro yesterday and I'm going through it today and the door lock on the driver side is really hard to lock/unlock by hand and it takes multiple tries with the power switch to do it. It doesn't like the key from the outside either. The passenger side works fine. Any suggestions?

Re: Door lock question

Someone probably pulled the door panel off at one point and when they reinstalled it didn't line everything up properly. The linkage or the little handle on the inside of the door is probably rubbing on the inner part of the door panel. If there is dynomat under there it could be sticking to the glue as well. I don't think you will know unless you pull the panel.

To do that remove window switches - hard to do without breaking the little plastic tab, but you can give it a shot. Remove the 2 ? screws holding the plastic plate behind the handle on. Unlock the door and take off the plastic handle by prying the start that sticks up towards you. There are two screws in the armrest, (one hidden underneath armrest) and another - I can't remember where. Remove the plate. Lift the whole panel upwards. There are tabs that catch when you slide the panel downwards. This really isn't all that hard. You should be able to see what is catching/rubbing once the panel is removed. Hope this helps.
