does anyone know the GM part numbers for the 96-97 WS6 hood grills?

i just bought a WS6 hood that was a reject from the original supplier... it has a few chips on the corners and a dime sized hole on the flat part of the hood on the drivers side before it goes into the raised part... that was the reason it was rejected. I paid a little over $300 for it, which i think is a good deal considering its not a cheap knockoff hood but rather a real WS6 hood, unpainted never installed, that just needs minor work.. the body shop i work with gave me a quote of $600 to repaint my roof, fit and adjust the hood to make sure of proper fit, then remove it, paint it and the headlight doors, and then install.

(yeah i know the photoshop of the wheels kind of sucks but i wanted to get an idea)

anyway, i need grills for it and can't seem to find them.. GMPD has LS1 grills for $14.50 apiece and i was hoping that i cound find the LT1 part numbers and just get them there..

thanks

If you haven't gotten the numbers by tomorrow morning...I'll get them for you when I get to work.

Bad news my friend...the part numbers for the screens are 12529227-RH and 12529228-LH...but they are expensive. They retail out at $95.76 per side! Sorry to give you the bad news...give a local dealer a call and see if they may be willing to sell them to you for wholesale...$71.82 each. Hope this helps.

I've needed a set as well for the past few years but refuse to pay $150+ for 2 small pieces of plastic.

Well, if you live up here in Canada...you have to pay close to $400 for them...they retail at $190.00 each! So I see $150 as a hell of a bargain!

12529227 $58.75
12529228 $58.76

according to www.gmpartsdirect.com

i was hoping for a bit cheaper but $117 for the pair is better than $95 apiece......

oh wait scratch that, they want $12.95 shipping for EACH one :wtf: why can't they throw the things in a padded manilla envelope and send them through the freaking mail?

although for that price im half tempted to go slightly ghetto and buy this stuff and cut them to fit

does anyone have pics of a WS6 hood without the grills installed? since my car is black and the shop is going to paint both sides of the hood, i doubt it would look too bad to just leave them off for now?

HOLY ****! i might have found the holy grail!!!!

$40 for the pair from hawks 3rd gen parts..i dont know if these are oem or not? does anyone know if they will fit an oem hood?

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...OD&ProdID=1809

i went ahead and ordered a pair, it does look like they will work with the oem, i thought maybe the oem screwed in but it appears on the LT1 cars that its clips.
