i've had a starting problem for a long time and now i'm going to fix it so i need help.

i'm thinking there should be some kind of ground on alternator right or wrong ?


how many wires should be coming out of the alternator harness ?


mine has only one little red wire is there supose to be more

this is on an 94 z28 LT-1

 

One little red wire and the one larger red wire from the battery is all there is. The alternator is grounded through it's casing and mounting bolts.

 

yup that's all i see i'll keep looking somewhere else for my low voltage my last option is to replace alternator +battery . i'm going to look at all my grounds and i'll be using your website.

Take your alternator and battery off and take them to a Autozone or Pep boys. They will usually test them for free. This might save you from replacing good parts.
