Does an advanced timing tune lower gas milage

Gas prices are really high now and I dont wanna get any less gas milage than I already get. So does having an advanced timing tune get you less gas milage?

I didn't suffer a change in fuel economy with the "premium gas" tune. I also did do headers at the same time as the tune which may explain why my MPGs increased.
