Dipstick Removal

How do i remove the entire oil dipstick, so that I can remove the shield which is over a bolt, that needs to come off, so the plate can come off and I can get to the final exhaust manifold bolt.

the plate is outlined in green.

Re: Dipstick Removal

it shoudl just pull right out thre are one or two o-rings at to bottom where the tube sticks into the block or oil pan, don't know for sure. Just pull on it and is should come out over time the heat from the engine makes those o-rings stuck in there really tightly. But there also might be a bracket that is attached to the tube and bolted on some where. Just give the tube a good twist and it should come right out.

Re: Dipstick Removal

I remember the oil dipstick was a pain in the butt to remove due to alot of rust buildup. A combination of PB Blaster and a twisting motion while pulling up did the trick.
